AllerFlow Gluten Surface Residue Test

Welcome to Hygiena®’s instructional video on AllerFlow Gluten, a rapid and convenient environmental gluten residue test for food processing surfaces.

Overview

  • Detects gluten from wheat, barley, rye, and oat with no cross-reactivity to soy, rice, or corn.
  • Comprises only two components: a sample collection device and a lateral flow cassette.
  • Detects as little as 5 µg of gluten, providing results in 10 minutes.
  • Shelf life of up to 15 months, stored at room or refrigerated temperature.

Test Procedure

  1. Sample Collection
    • Allow the swab to reach room temperature before use.
    • Label the swab tube with the location.
    • Swab a 4x4 inch (10x10 cm) area in a crisscross pattern with consistent pressure.
    • Do not touch the swab shaft to avoid contamination.
    • Insert swab back into the tube, break the snap valve, and release the extraction buffer by squeezing the bulb.
    • Shake gently to mix the sample with the liquid.
  2. Transferring to the Lateral Flow Device
    • Label the lateral flow cassette with the test location.
    • Pour the liquid sample into the cassette's fill well until full.

Interpreting Results

  • Negative Result: A single blue line (C) means gluten is less than 5 µg—the surface is safe for production.
  • Positive Result: A red line (T) alongside the blue control line means gluten exceeds 5 µg—clean and retest.
  • Invalid Result: No blue control line—repeat the test with a new device.

Final Notes

  • Discard used devices in regular trash.
  • Contact Hygiena’s 24/7 customer service for any questions or support.
