How-To Video
UltraSnap® Surface ATP Test
Overview:
This video highlights the benefits and proper use of UltraSnap®, a user-friendly ATP test for assessing cleanliness on food contact surfaces and processing equipment after cleaning.
How It Works:
- UltraSnap, used with Hygiena’s handheld luminometers, detects ATP (adenosine triphosphate), an energy molecule found in all living cells. The presence of ATP indicates surface contamination.
- Test results are provided in 15 seconds, expressed in Relative Light Units (RLUs)—higher RLUs indicate dirtier surfaces.
Key Features & Benefits:
- Enhanced Sample Collection: The pre-moistened swab bud breaks through biofilms for accurate testing.
- Superior Sensitivity: Uses liquid-stable chemistry and patented snap-valve for reliable results.
- Long Shelf Life: 15 months refrigerated, 4 weeks at room temperature.
- Eco-Friendly: Made from 100% recyclable plastic.
Testing Process:
- Prepare the System: Turn on the luminometer for calibration.
- Swab the Surface:
- Remove swab and test a 4x4 inch (10x10 cm) area in a crisscross pattern.
- Apply consistent pressure and rotate the swab tip.
- Avoid contaminating the swab shaft.
- Activate the Test:
- Break the snap valve, squeeze the bulb twice to release liquid, then shake for 5 seconds.
- Measure Results:
- Insert the swab into the luminometer, close the lid, and press “OK.”
- Results display in 15 seconds.
Optimize with SureTrend Software:
- Tracks and trends test results for sanitation monitoring.
- Provides preset/customizable reports for HACCP programs and audit compliance.
- Helps identify environmental contamination.
